Sunday 5th July 2020
We have surveyed our Junior members and the great news is that there is an appetite from our hardball Colts to get some cricket played from Friday 17th July. We are currently working on plans based on the latest Government guidance and taking into account all the information we have from the ECB. We will need a register of all children attending on a Friday night rather than our usual “turn up and play” approach. Please also remember that our insurance requires everyone using the facilities is a member, so 2020 membership fees need to be paid.
Some of you have asked how drills will work - the coaches are working on specific training exercises which we can share with you nearer the time. As you will have seen in the news, the guidance on sports is changing fairly often, so for example at the moment children will be asked to socially distance, use their own individual bat and ball and not to share equipment. We then ask that you clean all your equipment after use and wash hands. Please bring your own kit to training to use and if you don’t have kit and need a cricket ball or bat, let us know and we will provide specific equipment for your child. More detailed information and guidance will be shared before training begins. As you will have seen the Government is allowing recreational cricket to resume and we will take into account the latest guidance before we start any training. Fully risk assessments will be carried out.
We will continue to look at how to bring back Kwik cricket too.
Thanks again for all your support and kind messages and we look forward to seeing you back at The Brow very soon.
